CONFERENCE GOAL: The goal for the Ohio Prevention and Education Conference is to revitalize and build on the existing capacity of Ohio’s prevention workforce to enhance the delivery of evidence-based prevention strategies in the places where people work, live, learn, and recreate.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES:
- Provide workshops that demonstrate Cultural Competency as fundamental to evidence based prevention practices. Presentations must demonstrate how their relationship with the consumer is critical to their evidenced based prevention practice and consistent with achieving the intended outcome.
- Promote collaboration at the state, county and community levels to meet prevention needs
- Provide opportunities for networking across multiple systems invested in the delivery of quality prevention services
- Promote an effective and efficient prevention system that provides for greater consistency and coordination of resources
- Promote an understanding of prevention science and the utilization of evidence based prevention programs, practices, strategies and policies
- Showcase Ohio’s prevention resources
- Reinforce a system of prevention service that focuses on efficiency
- Present prevention and early intervention strategies that are both school and community-based to reduce factors that prevent youth from learning.
